As the sun begins to dip below the horizon, casting golden hues across the limestone cliffs of central Barbados, arrive at Harrison’s Cave Eco-Adventure Park and be greeted by the gentle sounds of nature and the rhythmic echoes of steel pan music to begin an incomparable evening of history and culture.
Follow the rhythms along the pathway to the begin the night's festivities of a true Barbadian Floor Show hosted by the ultra-talented Pinelands Creative Workshop. The Drums and pennywhistle of the tuk band paired with dancers in vibrant costumes suddenly pulse to life,—some depicting traditional Caribbean characters such as the Mother Sally, Shaggy Bear, and Green Monkey. Through a blend of storied music, and dance, guests are taken on a journey through Barbadian folklore—tales of African heritage, plantation life, and island resilience.
The show is lively, humorous, and deeply rooted in Bajan identity, with opportunities for audience participation and interaction. As the final drumbeat echoes into the night, guests are guided to a buffet of delectable Bajan fare.
Tables are set for communal dining, where the aroma of delicious Barbadian dinner pierces through the atmosphere awaiting your tastebuds.
